KVK's 4-day training prog begins

A four-day training programme on the establishment of fruits and vegetable nursery at Churachandpur was inaugurated today at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Churachandpur, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region under the patronage of Dr Narendra Prakash, Joint Director, ICAR RC for NEH Region, Manipur Centre.
The inaugural function was graced by Dr W Rajen Singh, Programme Coordinator (i/c), Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Churachandpur, and Dr R K Roshan, SMS Horticulture.
The training programme is being attended by 20 farmers from Churachandpur district.
Dr W Rajen Singh, Programme Coordinator (i/c), Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Churachandpur, during his speech at the inaugural programme, highlighted the growing need of quality planting material to increase productivity of fruit and vegetable crops of the district.
Dr R K Roshan, SMS Horticulture dwelt on the importance of quality seeds and planting materials of fruits and vegetables and the scopes of establishing fruits and vegetable nursery for income generation.
Rabi vegetable seeds were also distributed to the trainees farmers on the first day of the training programme.
The training programme will continue till November 26.During the training, different topics related to nursery establishment, scope, problems, field visit and practical will be conducted.
