Imphal, May 23 2012:
The Manipur People's Party (MPP) has urged Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to ensure that the case of Richard Loitam is handed over to the CBI.
The MPP President, Dr Nimaichand Luwang has submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister in this regard today.
In the memorandum the MPP pointed that the act of 'incredulous nature' has sent shock waves to many States particularly Manipur, Richard's birth place, while informing him of the war cry raised by student organisations in seeking justice in the case of Richard.
Apprising the PM of the burning of effigies, uproar, and picketing of political parties' offices in protest against the dubious post mortem report, the MPP has urged the PM to hand over the case to the CBI as the people have no faith in the Karnataka Government on the matter.
