The Education Cell of PRJA expressed its endorsement and support on the ongoing agitation led by Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Student's Union .
Convener of Education Cell, PRJA K Bowang Kho said that the post graduate students of IGNTUSU-RCM have been compelled to relinquish their studies due to the absence of any kind of accommodation/hostel facilities .
He also said that the University has been running the Department of Tribal Studies and Sociology and Social Anthropology for more than four years without full time faculty and the UGC has also failed to sanction any non-teaching posts for the Regional Campus, Manipur .
He continued that depriving the student community of their basic entitlements is an open violation of the Fundamental Rights enshrined in the Constitution and amounts, especially, to a denial of the Right to Education .
It also urged Professor, T V Kattimani, Vice Chancellor, IGNTU and the Government to examine the matter seriously and explain the reasons behind such a sorry state of affairs while ensuring the necessary provisions at the earliest.
