Collaborative training cum workshop held

An off campus collaborative training cum workshop on Improving e-Governance in Agriculture was inaugurated today at the conference hall of Directorate of Agriculture, Manipur.
The four-day long programme is being organised by the National Institute of Agriculture Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, Ministry of Agriculture, GoI in association with the State Agriculture Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Dept of Agriculture, Manipur.
The inaugural programme today was attended by G Shamu Kabui, Director of Agriculture, Manipur and Louis Ngasainao, Joint Director of Agriculture, Manipur as the chief guest and president respectively while Director of SAMETI, M Gojendra Singh was the guest of honour.
According to the organisers, the objectives of the training programme are to sensitise the State and district level extension officers on the increasing role of ICT in improving agricultural knowledge sharing at district, block and village level; to upgrade the skills and knowledge to make best use of ICT connectivity established at ATMA/district level and to update and understand ICT based eGovernance issues for agriculture and allied functions.
Over 40 officers from Agriculture and allied depts like horticulture, fisheries, veterinary and research station like ICAR, CAU, KVK of the nine districts took part in the training programme.
