One day free 'Anaemia Screening Camp' held

A one day free 'Anaemia Screening Camp' under 'Anaemia Mukt Bharat' campaign was organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP), Manipur Prant at the community hall of Tronglaobi Awang in Bishnupur district in collaboration with District Health Society, Bishnupur today.
In today's screening camp, around 63 adolescent girls and women were screened for Haemoglobin and blood sugar level.
Iron supplements and iron rich food supplements like Chak-hao were distributed to all participants, said a press release by BVP, Manipur Prant.
A mobile testing van for Anaemia Mukt Bharat campaign was also launched by Suresh Jain, National Organizing Secretary, Bharat Vikas Parishad, Central Office, New Delhi in presence of Dr S Rajendra Singh, National Vice President, BVP, Prof M Premjit Singh, Patron, BVP, NE and Dr AK Sundarkumar, former Principal of Moirang College.
The van has been donated by M/S Eastern Motors, Chingmeirong to Bharat Vikas Parishad, Manipur Prant for use in Anaemia Mukt Bharat campaign in the state.
Suresh Jain on behalf of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Manipur Prant thanked S Pritam Singh, proprietor of Eastern Motors for donating the mobile testing van which will be of great help in carrying out the anaemia free campaign across the State.
He further said that Bharat Vikas Parishad has taken up this campaign to make India free from anaemia which is in line with the campaign of the Government.
Dr S Rajendra Singh appealed to all to get routine screening test for haemoglobin to know the status of anaemia in children and women.
He further said that Anaemia Mukt Bharat campaign of BVP will be covering remote areas of the State including hill districts once the COVID-19 pandemic subsides.
Dr Ksh Umananda Singh led the team of doctors and health workers from RBSK, District Health Society, Bishnupur in today's programme and spoke on anaemia and its preventive measures.
