UNC, KIM meet

The United Naga Council (UNC) and the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) held a joint meeting today and resolved to convene another meeting at 11 am of May 20 at Kuki Inn, Old Lambulane.
The Zomi Council, the Hmar Inpui and the Mizo People' Convention have also been invited to the meeting, conveyed a press release signed UNC vice-president TS Warngam and KIM general secretary Khamliankhup Liazaw.
The UNC and the KIM held a joint meeting today after a meeting of leaders of different tribes was held on May 13 at MPC office, Churachandpur in the presence of KIM and UNC where it was resolved to form a State level coordination committee against the alleged three anti-tribal Bills passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 31 last year.
Another press release issued by KIM secretary (political and reformation affairs) S Doungel said that the 48 hours total shut down called by the Churachandpur JAC has been relaxed.
"...the 48 hours total shut down called by the JAC in the hill districts from the midnight of May 16 could not be translated into action", it said.
