Most of the preparations at Manipur University and Luwangpokpa Multi Sports Complex, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 105th Indian Science Congress and address the people respectively tomorrow, have been completed.
In anticipation of the PM's visit tomorrow, the road from Manipur University to Luwangpokpa Multi Sports complex have been adorned with BJP flags as well as posters/displays welcoming the PM and containing photos of Chief Minister N Biren Sing and numerous Ministers as a part of the completion of one year by BJP State Government.
According to information received by The Sangai Express from an official source, Chief Secretary RR Rashmi, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Dr Suresh Babu, DGP LM Khaute as well as numerous civil and police officials, have been monitoring the preparation works round the clock.
The source informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Tulihal International airport at 9.25 am tomorrow and he will travel by helicopter from the airport to Manipur University.
He will inaugurate the 105th Indian Science Congress at Manipur University at 10 am and speak before a large number of Nobel laureates, scientists, industrialists and experts from around the world and from other States of the country.
A mega science and technology exhibition called Pride of India, will also be organised at the venue.
A separate exhibition called Host State Pavilion will also be organised to showcase the achievement s of the various Departments of the State, the official added.
The PM will travel by helicopter to Luwangshangbam at 11.30 am.
The helicopter will land at the helipad constructed at Liberal College and the Prime Minister will travel to Luwangpokpa Multi Sports complex by vehicle, where he will inaugurate various projects from the stage by using a remote control to unveil a total of 11 plaques.
The source informed that the Prime Minister will inaugurate Luwangpokpa Multi Sports complex, the Scheduled Tribe Girls Hostel at Liberal College and Rani Gaidinliu park at Mantripukhri.
The PM will also lay the foundation stone for National Sports University at Haraothel, quarters for doctors and teachers at 15 locations of the hill districts, 1000 Anganwadi Centres and 25 Sadbhav Mandap.
The inauguration and foundation stone laying function at Luwangshangbam will be video linked with the actual locations of the project sites and made visible to the people with the help of digital screens, the source added.
However, none of the officials agreed to disclose the number of people the State Government is planning to host at the sports complex tomorrow.
The official informed that the Prime Minister will leave the sports complex at 1.15 pm and finally leave Imphal at around 1.40 pm.
Preparations are underway for an exhibition to showcase the achievements of the Departments of the State Government at the sports complex and hectic work could be seen along the road from the helipad to the sports complex (rocks and pebbles were being deposited and the road was still being black topped) .
