Imphal, December 13 2009:
Alleging widespread use of unfair means and discrepancies in the written test for recruitment of Autonomous District Council primary teachers in Chandel district, Maring Students' Union (MSU) said that it would call indefinite bandh in the district and on Pallel to Moreh section of NH-39 from the midnight of December 15 if the Government fails to suspend the CEO and conduct fresh written test.
A press release of the union expressed strong resentment over the conduct of the CEO of Chandel ADC, Deputy Commissioner and Tribal Development and Hills Minister.
It alleged that candidates who did not sit in the written test were declared passed in the recently
declared results.
The union said that it had informed about the discrepancies to the Chandel DC on October 19 .
The press release said that a team of MSU and Maring Uparup Assembly met TD and Hills Minister highlighted the discrepancies on December 7 .
