After the office of the Sports Department was set ablaze in the night of July 8, the HRD Ministry allegedly instructed the State Government to take complete control of the situation by deputing required police personnel, sources informed.
Saying that the students' agitation which started on May 30 has led to a very serious law and order problem, destroying Government property, the HRD Minister allegedly asked the State Government to take up suitable action as per the law against the persons who destroyed Government property, the sources added.
On the other hand, teachers and students of the university have been staging a relay hunger strike since July 9 demanding dismissal of VC Prof Pandey.
