Imphal, November 09 2012:
Peeved at the alleged omission of Chandel, Tamenglong, Ukhrul districts and insignificant amount provided to Senapati district by the cheque drawal authority of the Finance Department, Govt of Manipur, in allotting district-wise share of fund under CDA, the All Tribal Contractors' Association, Manipur has warned of launching democratic forms of protest including taking legal recourse if the matter is not straightened within three days.
Pointing out that a released sum, amounting to Rs 9,23,00242, under CDA has been concentrated only in the valley districts apart from Churachandpur and Sadar Hills, a statement issued by the president of ATCAM, LS Asheli accused the authority of making the allotment on 'communal line', neglecting the Naga inhabited districts.
It stated that the emotional integrity as evoked by every political leader and Ministers is nothing but a lie.
It added that the 'injustice' meted out by the State Government cannot be ignored as this is not the first time but has been continuing since the inception of SPA fund in the State.
Drawing the attention of the Chief Secretary in this regard, the ATCAM statement warned of launching democratic protest if any tangible outcome is brought out within three days.
