Alzheimer's month Interaction programme held

Poster release function in connection with World Alzheimer's month 2013 cum one day interaction programme on Alzheimer/Dementia issues in Manipur was held today at Wahengbam Leikai Lairembi Community Hall, Imphal West.
Speaking as the chief guest of the programme, former Chairperson of Manipur State Social Welfare Board, RK Nayansana Devi urged all concerned to show respect and give equal treatment to Alzheimer patients, particularly senior citizens who are prone to Alzheimer, at home and in the society.
Pointing out that once a person is affected by Alzheimer, there is few chance of recovery of the brain cells, RK Nayansana said the patients need care utmost love and proper nursing at home as well in the society.
The programme was organised by ICDS, Imphal City, Dept of Social Welfare in collaboration with National Alliance for Elder's People Livelihood Research Advocacy and Chronic Diseases of India and Alzheimer's and Related Disorder's Society of India, Manipur Chapter.
Vice-chairperson and Scientific Chief Patron, NAEPLRA Chronic Diseases of India and ARDSI, Dr K Shantibala Devi; Social Worker, T Asha Devi; Supervisor of ICDS Imphal City, S Nivarani and G Suprabha have also attended the programme.
