Imphal, August 08, 2014:
Naga People's Front (NFP), Manipur State on Friday lambasted Ibobi Government for allegedly turning all the political parties into a secret private 'NGO.' NFP skipped the recent all political party meeting on Inner Line Permit issue because the Congress Government headed by Okram Ibobi Singh is indulging in delaying tactics over the issue, NPF Manipur unit general secretary Athuan Abonmei told Newmai News Network here.
He accused Ibobi Government of making tall promises to the people for over one decade by indulging in delaying tactics which are a temporary solution.
"Ibobi and his deputy Gaikhangam have turned all the political parties in Manipur into a secret NGO and now the two leaders are trying very hard to mollify the growing ILP movement using delaying tactics," Abonmei alleged.
He said NFP did not attend the recent all political party meeting on ILP issue as the party understood the intent of Ibobi Government.
Abonmai said his party wants introduction of ILP in Manipur, and that the party promised it in its election manifesto for the recent national election.
"We want ILP in Manipur and the entire North East and it has been a demand of NPF," he said.
He said all political party meetings were convened in several occasions by Ibobi Government to solve different issues, but the results were all 'useless.' Ibobi and Gaikhangam are holding all political party meetings to sideline public issues, the state NPF leader accused.
