Online programme 'Leipung Phamba' to begin today

An online programme based on culture, theatre and literature titled 'Leipung Phamba' through Zoom App will be held from tomorrow.
Also an online mime class was conducted today.
With an aim to provide some relief from the mental turmoil one goes through during this difficult time of COVID-19 pandemic, the programme is being organised by Critics Forum Manipur and will commence from tomorrow in the auditorium of Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertoire at Langthabal Kunja.
The online programme will be conducted twice a week (on every Monday and Thursday) .
Speaking to this reporter of TSE, general secretary of Critics Forum Manipur, Dr Athokpam Kholchandra said that the programme 'Leipung Phamba' will be held through Zoom App on every Monday and Thursday from 6pm till 7 pm along with interactive sessions.
He continued that the programme will be attended by many distinguished personalities of the State namely Professor Nongmaithem Tombi Singh, advisor of Critics Forum Manipur on June 7, renowned folk singer of Manipur Goshe Meitei on June 10, renowned theatre director S Thanileima on June 14, film activist Meghachandra Kongbam on June 17, guest faculty of Manipur University Gitarani on June 21, theatre director Loitongbam Doren on June 24 and theatre activist Budha Chingtham on June 28 .

He further stated the programme will focus on relieving the mental stress that most of the section of the society goes through amid the COVID-19 pandemic connecting online through Zoom App when it is not feasible to meet directly and it will be conducted until the situation of the pandemic improves in the State.
While speaking to this reporter, Yumnam Sadananda, director of Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertoire said that an online Mime class was held today evening at 6.30 pm organised by Soma Mime Theatre Kolkata.
He maintained that the online mime class which was attended by 30 artists in total has been conducted to discuss about the current status of mime in Manipur and across the country through interchange of ideas and knowledge to benefit the mime artists during the pandemic.
