The Zomi Revolutionary Army has today deny any involvement in the killing of ZRF/KNO Defence Director Nicholas on July 28 saying it is natural and no wonder that the ZRA is wrongly accused as he is a ZRA deserter.
A statement issued by one Moses, Defence Director (PRO) ZRA said Nicholas joined the organization in 1998 and steadfastly served the Zo nation until he was mis-guided by some self-centric politicians in 2012.He was subsequently terminated on June 23, 2012 for his act of insubordination and fomenting mutiny within the rank and file of ZRA.
Nicholas had fled with 17 weapons and 18 cadres on June 17, 2012 but were all apprehended by Indian security forces for the violation of SoO ground rules, it said.
The ZRA then granted amnesty to all the deserters, of which 15 cadres returned to their parent organization.
3 cadres including Nicholas failed to return and the ZRA does not have any knowledge of their where about since then, it added.
The statement further said it is surprise to learn that Nicholas is the Defence Director of ZRF/KNO faction and clandestinely resided at B Vengnom and condole his sudden demise.
It is natural and no wonder that the ZRA is wrongly accused in the unfortunate murder of Nicholas since he is a ZRA deserter, it said.
