Th Shyamkumar said, "God has given us this beautiful earth to live but nature has started to wage war against the mankind for its misdeeds.
Due to ecological imbalance caused by continuous exploitation of forest and environment by human beings, unnatural phenomenon like heavy hailstones, untimely rainfall, frequent storms, sudden climate change have been taking place" .
"It is the duty of everyone of us to take care of the gift bestowed upon us so that the earth is safe for our children and the younger generations to survive.
The same importance should be taught to the youngsters as well in order to conserve the ecology," Shyamkumar said.
Altogether, 64 trekkers are participating in the mission and have left Imphal today.
Both the volunteers of MMTA and NAAME will spent the whole month cleaning Dzukou Valley.
The function was also attended by Meghachandra Kongbam, Director DIPR, N Ibungochoubi, president of MMTA and Yambem Laba, former president of MMTA.
