Imphal, October 03 2016:
Normal daily operations of Sekmai LPG Bottling Plant which were suspended a few days back as its stock position was reduced to nil resumed from yesterday.
LPG stock at the bottling plant declined to nil on account of intermittent highway bandhs and blockades seen in the month of September which was followed by an indefinite economic blockade called by the Contract Basis Appointed Teachers Association of Senapati ADC since September 25 midnight.
Notwithstanding the economic blockade, some loaded oil tankers and LPG bulk tankers of NRL and BPCL reached Imphal together with CRPF escorts yesterday.
Some other loaded oil tankers and LPG bullet tankers arrived today too amidst CRPF escorts and additional security escorts.
Altogether 15 LPG bullet tankers reached Sekmai LPG Bottling Plant between yesterday and today.
Subsequently, after daily normal operations were suspended for around one week, the plant resumed its normal operation from yesterday.
The plant started supplying LPG to distributors today, informed an official source.
However, distribution of LPG refill to consumers would start after a couple of days as there are many pending bookings.
On account of the indefinite economic blockade imposed along Imphal-Dimapur highway and ImphalJiribam highway, distribution of LPG refill to consumers was suspended since September 28 .
