Ukhrul, July 02 2018:
Reacting strongly to a statement of one LW Gaison, alleged founder of PWDA, Ukhrul which was published in The Sangai Express on June 30 under the caption "PWDA clarifies", the All Tribal Disables' Union Manipur (ATDUM) on Monday condemned and claimed that the statement of Gaison is baseless and is an 'attempt to malign and tarnish the image' of ATDUM as well as the position of its president.
It may be mentioned that ATDUM had earlier claimed that a Bolero vehicle, registered in the name of its president, bearing registration number No MN05A-6611 was carjacked by three persons from Beaulahram on June 13 .
Refuting the claim of Gaison, a statement of ATDUM issued by its general secretary T Chuongsin said that Momo is legitimate president of ATDUM as per vide approval letter No 259/M/SR/2007 dated April 20, 2016 issued by the Office of the Registrar of Societies, Government of Manipur.
The vehicle (Bolero) is property of ATDUM.
As per the deeds of agreement dated September 2, 2016 the vehicle was registered in the name of president, ATDUM being the head of the organisation, said the statement.
ATDUM is a registered body under Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989 bearing registration No 259/M/SR/2007 and has been functioning smoothly in accordance with the bye-laws.
LW Gaison is neither a member of ATDUM nor he is part of this organisation and its activities.
And there is no such organisation as PWDA in Ukhrul as well as Manipur tribal areas, said the statement of the general secretary ATDUM.
Outsiders who don't know about the ATDUM office administration and non-members have no right to interrupt its office administration.
The office administration is vested in the Executive Committee as per bye-laws, said ATDUM.
"The ATDUM summon through media, the so called self-style founder of PWDA.
LW Gaison should come and clarify at the ATDUM office on July 5, 2018, failing which ATDUM will initiate/take up legal action against him," ATDUM cautioned.
