Hands over water storage tanks to 31 families

Continuing his philanthropic endeavour, owner of The Sangai Express, Nishikant Singh Sapam has yet again provided water storage tanks to 31 households below the poverty line.
He 31 households were drawsn from 31 Leikais (localities) of Keishamthong and they were each provided one 500 litre capacity water storage tank each during a programme organised by the Tengbang Marup Keishamthong at Anoubam Mandap, Thouda Bhabok Leikai today.
Earlier, Nishikant had provided water storage tanks to 41 households.
Nishikant distributed the water storage tanks to representatives of the households in the presence of former Chairman of Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur, Dr Hamom Nabachandra, Chaokhat Thourang Kanglup's former president Soraisam Keshoram, local elders and others.
At the event, Nishikant said he is blessed to be able to help the people and "will continue to provide assistance to those who need help as long as I am able to".
One should help others sincerely and genuinely, Nishikant said.
Nishikant, who had represented India as vice captain and captain of the under 19 basketball team in the Philippines and Saudi Arabia, also talked about sports and encouraged youths and children to maintain discipline and strive for the best.
Former Chairman of the COHSEM, Dr H Nabachandra and former president of Chaokhat Thourang Kanglup Soraisam Keshoram also appreciated Nishikant for his humanitarian work.
The beneficiaries who were given the water storage tanks hail from Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai, Keishamthong Longjam Leirak, Elangbam Leikai (Achouba), Keishamthong Thangjam Leirak, Pishum Oinam Leikai, Haobam Marak Ngangom Leikai, Pishum Nongthombam Leirak, Huidrom Leikai, Khagempalli Panthak, Kwakeithel Dewan Leikai, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai, Keishamthong Irom Pukhri Mapal, Keishampat Keisham Leikai, Keishampat Thiyam Leikai, Keishampat Kangabam Leikai, Thouda Bhabok Leikai, Keishamthong Hodam Leirak, Keishampat Leimajam Leikai, Khagempalli Nganappi Thong Mapal, Keishamthong Longjam leirak, Haobam Marak, Laikhurembi and Konjeng Hajari Leikai.
The beneficiaries thanked and appreciated Nishikant for his help.
It may be noted that besides providing assistance including monetary assistance to many, Nishikant has helped build houses for some families.
He is also actively involved in conserving the State animal Sangai and is providing monthly honoraria to tourist guides employed at the Keibul Lamjao National Park.
