Makhan VA condemns firing incident

Makhan (Makhen) Village Authority has strongly condemned the heavy and prolonged gun fight which took place in Lower Makhan endangering the lives and safety of the innocent civilians on the intervening night of May 27 and 28 .
Condemning the "reckless shoot-out" in and around a densely populated region and its vicinity which is predominantly inhabited by the Liangmai community, a statement issued by Silianbou Malangmai, secretary, Makhan Village has proclaimed that the village has no allegiance to either side or party involved in the ongoing conflict.
Adding that Makhan village gives free passage to every community with numerous motorists and pedestrians plying on the road and travelling to and fro, it maintained that Makhan village is a peaceful zone and continues to remain neutral.
However, it further maintained that the village monitors anyone passing through the village irrespective of the group or community any individual might belong to.
Stating that Makhan Village Authority provides free passage of the village road from 6 am to 6 pm, it declared that entry after 6 pm is restricted.
Further, it cautioned that any consequence or event arising out of availing the village road, adjoining areas and the open fields and farmlands of the village must be borne by the "trespassing individuals or groups themselves" .
Saying that Makhan village adopts a "each-person-at-his-or-her-own-risk rule", the statement further called upon all groups to refrain from such unfortunate activties or to dwell on such activities.
Adding that the village does not side with any conflicting parties, Makhan Village Authority has prayed for speedy restoration of peace and harmony in Manipur.
