Imphal, December 28 2017:
With regard to the Framework Agreement signed between the Government of India and NSCN-IM on August 3, 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has categorically stated that people should not believe in unauthenticated/unconfirmed reports, statements, tendentious rumours and speculations.
He assured that no one sided decision would be adopted on the Naga issue.
While referring to Manipur as the least developed State in the North East, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that economic progress will solve many of the problems plaguing the State and bring peace and prosperity in Manipur.

He was talking to the representatives of civil society organisations from the State who have been camping in New Delhi to apprise Central leaders including the Prime Minister about the standpoint of the people of Manipur with regard to the Framework Agreement.
The CSO representatives met the Prime Minister this morning for 15 minutes, informed a source.
The representatives submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister along with a couple of souvenirs including a 'leiyumfee' and a wood carving of Kanglasha.
The memorandum clearly stated the reasons why Manipur is apprehensive about the Framework Agreement.
The Prime Minister was told that the Centre and many leaders had given repeated assurances about the integrity of the State but none of them would reveal the contents of the agreement.
He was also informed that there had been a few statements fraught with anxiety from some corners regarding the Framework Agreement and that these had made the issue a matter of grave concern.
PM Modi reportedly told the representatives that they should trust only the Government of India and stated that the Government has not yet made the final statement.
The Prime Minister told the CSO leaders that there was nothing to be worried about.
While clearing the doubts over the alleged statements, the Prime Minister informed the CSO representatives that only the Government of India will be making the official and final statement, which they should accept it as true.
He had added the doors are always wide open for any deliberations.
The Prime Minister is deeply aware about Manipur.
Notwithstanding the repeated assurances that there is no question of disintegration of Manipur at present, the CSO representatives made it clear that they would never allow disintegration of Manipur in the future too.
Modi assured that it was his words as the Prime Minister of the country that the territorial integrity of Manipur will be kept intact.
PM Modi was also reminded of the June 2001 civil movement and told that the present issue can give rise to more grievous consequences if the Centre is not tactful enough.
Modi assured that the Government of India will consult all stake holders before making any decision.
The Prime Minister pointed out that Manipur is the least developed State in the North East and economic progress would solve many of the problems plaguing the state and thus it is essential to focus on this aspect of progress and development to bring peace and prosperity in Manipur.
