MTC celebrates 'Cultural Day'

Kangpokpi, October 28 2019:
Manipur Theological College (MTC) located in Mission Compound Kangpokpi vibrantly celebrated its first ever 'Cultural Day cum Food Fest' today at its college campus where unity was widely emphasized among the different communities studying in the college.
Importantly, the oldest theological college in the state organized the Cultural Day event with a motive to usher in a sense of oneness inspite of differences in the face of disunity, discords and loss of trusts among various communities in the state.

Renee Newmai, SDO of Tamei Sub Division and Dr Ngamkhohao Haokip, Principal, Eklavya Model Residential School, Gamnom-Saparmeina graced the occasion as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively while Rev Dr Letkhothang, Principal of the college and Dr Tokivi Katty, Convener of the programme also attended the function.
Interestingly, more than fourteen different tribes participated in the cultural day cum food fest event who proudly displayed their unique cultural dances, folk songs and other acts in front of a huge crowd of all tribes present in Manipur and abroad.
Speaking to media persons, Principal of the college, Rev Dr Letkhothang Haokip said that in the face of disunity, discords and loss of trusts between many communities, the institution looks up above to usher in a sense of oneness inspite of our differences.
He along with Dr Tokivi Katty, Convener of the programme expressed gratitude to all the college students and mission compound members, well wishers, donors and churches members under the MBC who have always been a life support to the institution and owe its very existence to them.
The institution also conveyed special thanks to the 38 Assam Rifles, Kangpokpi Post for their innumerable helps particularly providing all tent materials and other accessories which protected the event from the rains and also the Youth society of KBC Centre Church, Kangpokpi for the provisions of the good sound system for the gospel concert.
The programme gracefully ended with a food fest and musical showdown in the evening.
