Six years old L Reshma Devi of Khonghampat today became the 51st child to be given new lease of life under the Heart to Heart Project of Rotary Club of Imphal.
Reshma underwent successful operation at the Pushapanjali Crosslay Hospital, Delhi NCR in collaboration with the Gift of Life Project of Rotary Club of New Delhi, said an RCI release issued by its Project Coordinator Dr Radhesyam Oinam.
It is informed that the first surgery under the RCI's initiative was conducted on September 10, 2009 at the Mission Hospital, Durgapur where 25 surgeries have been carried out.
While conveying a detailed account on the RCI Project being successfully carried out with the support of Rotarians of various cities, Dr Radhesyam informed that the next screening of children suffering from congenital heart defects will be conducted on October 8 at 10 am at the Rotary Bhavan, Mantripukhri.
Parents may register their children on the same day with the latest echo reports, three passport photos, BPL certificate and contact details, the RCI coordinator said while adding that there is no need for the patient child to be present that day.
