Imphal, December 27 2011:
Insisting that priority should be given to widows and economically deprived families of Thoubal district in the allotment of plots at the recently inaugurated Thoubal assembly constituency, convenor of Proposer committee for Dukan Plot and Market Vendor Shed at New Thoubal Market namely L Kunjabati said failure to honour the demand would constraint launching of strong agitation.
speaking to newspersons at Manipur press Club today, Kunjabati declared that the plots should be allotted to only residents of Thoubal AC, with top priority to either widows or those belonging to economically unsound families.
Highlighting that there are over 2000 women street vendors who are expecting that plots of the newly inaugurated market complex would be provided to them to enable them sustain livelihood, Kunjabati regretted that attempt to hand over a memorandum on the said issue to the Chief Minister on December 24 failed to materialise as police prevented them from meeting O Ibobi Singh.
It is also informed that invoking right to information Act one Oinam Robin Singh of Thoubal Ningombam Mini Stadium road had sought detailed information with regard to total cost of Thoubal Keithel construction and related information on october 25 but response from the authority concerned is still being awaited.
