CM flags off world War II Vintage Jeep rally

Imphal, November 27 2016:
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh flagged off the World War II Vintage Jeep rally from Koirengei old Air Field today.
Besides 9 vintage Jeeps, motorcycles and cycles numbering around 30 and 35 respectively, part in the rally which was organised as a part of Manipur Sangai Festival 2016 to give the message of peace, reconciliation and evils of war.
The organising partners of the rally are 2nd World War Imphal Campaign Foundation, Manipur Tourism Forum and the Department of Tourism, Government of Manipur.
The rally culminated at India Peace Memorial, Maibam Lotpa Ching.
Participants were dressed as Japanese and Allied Forces and carried the flags of India, Japan and UK.
Former MLA of Heingang A/C N Biren Singh, Chief Secretary O Nabakishore, Special Secretary (Tourism), N Ashok Kumar, DC Bishnupur M Harekrishna, Dr Th Dhabali, president Manipur Tourism Forum and Director, IPR Meghachandra Kongbam attended the flag off function.
