Imphal, October 27 2011:
Kuki Movement for Human Rights (KUMHUR) today submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister O Ibobi expressing support to his statement, 'Manipur is for all'.
The memorandum said, KUMHUR has already expressed the same view and it was published in local dailies on September 17 last.
Saying that there is no area exclusively and communally to be claimed by a single community or party, KUMHUR asserted that unlawful claim of certain areas for a community or party is the outcome of State disintegration movement.
It includes the present formation of the Reorganisation Committee constituted for redemarcation of the existing three decades old district boundaries, KUMHUR alleged.
It added that curving out certain areas from a district to add to another district is tantamount to defying both State recommendation of the district boundaries and Parliament Approval of the same in 1971 .
The recent District Council elections were held based on the existing boundaries and the Sadar Hills District Council is functioning on equal footing with other five hill districts, and has all the infrastructure except, the DC, KUMHUR said.
It alleged that the ongoing economic blockade is the result of those shouting for disintegration of the State beginning from Naga Integration, Southern Nagaland, and now Alternative Arrangement.
