Memory of first Kuki lady IAS officer lives on

The memory of the first Kuki lady IAS officer, (L) Mrs C Kipgen will live, not only among the ardent football fans and its players but amongst all sports loving people of Manipur, thanks to a football ground dedicated to her memory at Pangshang village, near Motbung today.
The late Mrs C Kipgen was born at Pangshang village.
The football ground was constructed under the Military Civic Action programme by 9 Engineers Regiment and fittingly 57 Mountain Division GOC Maj Gen DS Hooda graced the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest.
Husband of the late Mrs C Kipgen, TS Kipgen, MLA Thangminlen Kipgen, CO of 9 Engineers Col Abhijit Sharma, Brig AK Narula and family members including the children of C Kipgen were present at the occasion.
Speaking at the function, Maj Gen DS Hooda said that Manipuri people are talented people.
He expressed hope that peace and development would flourish in the State soon.

Recalling the example set by the late lady, the General said that Mrs C Kipgen is an example for all to emulate and added that she exemplified what hard work can do to achieve one's aim and goal in life.
Earlier, DS Hooda also unveiled a memorial stone of late C Kipgen.
