Lamka, September 23 2011:
As the blanket ban imposed on all Government functions and offices entering due to complete two week, the Churachandpur District Students Union and Joint Philanthropic Organisation have threatened to intensify their stir from Thursday next.
'Taking strong exception against the concerned authority's adamant attitude, the union and the joint organization reiterates its stance that unless our genuine demands for adequate/sufficient MO (Specialist), technical and non-technical staff, full fledge casualty and separate power supply are fulfilled by 26th September, 2011 an indefinite general strike will be launched from the 26th September midnight covering the whole district", said a joint statement issued by the two organisations.

Urging for co-operation from general public in its general strike, the statement warned that the general strike would be intensified to any extend.
Most of the Government offices, including that of the ADC have remained non-functional ever since the CDSU and JPO announced the blanket ban, in the face of which armed personnel are deployed across crucial offices of the district to foil any untoward and devastating activities.
