Imphal, November 22 2011:
Students of Moreh Higher Secondary School continue to face an uncertain future as the designated principal-in-charge is yet to report for duty inspite of posting order effected some two months back.
A statement issued by AMSU Chandel District Committee, Moreh said that following sustained demand by students of the higher secondary with the support of Chandel branch AMSU and kuki Students' Union, Moreh H Ranjit was posted as the principal-in-charge.
However, with the annual examination round the corner the incumbent has been transfered with a Government order dated Sept 23 naming Wangoi Higher Secondary School lecturer E Nabakumar as the former's replacement.
Despite the said transfer order, E Nabakumar is yet to report for duty leading to queries from the Moreh-based student bodies.
When apprised Wangoi Higher Secondary School authorities responded that Nabakumar could not be released as no official document (transfer order) has been provided to them, maintained the AMSU statement.
Seeking a clarification from the Government of Manipur on why the students should suffer due to alleged incompetency of the Education Department authorities, the AMSU unit also demanded that the new incumbent should report for duty without further delay.
Moreover, it suggested that all the teachers of Moreh secondary school report for duty in a punctual manner taking into account plight of the students.
