Heavy downpour turns road into watercourse
Source: The Sangai Express
CCpur, June 22 2019:
Heavy downpour around noon today in Churachandpur literally turned many stretches of road within the town into a watercourse as the dark tarred surface gave way to muddy water for about half an hour.
The sudden and heavy downpour that lasted for about half an hour inundated many areas where the drainage are clogged or left unattended.
It took about an hour for the water to seep clear off the roads.
Unhealthy practice of dumping waste materials on the nullahs by residents, shopkeepers and vendors have made them clogged in many locations.
|
In the event of any heavy downpour, the drains are flooded with water and dirt littered all across the road.
Despite the best efforts of the local bodies to manage waste, the irresponsible acts of some people have been still playing spoilsport.
The fact that waste materials still piling up on roadside every other day despite warning from the ADC in the busy New Bazar area is one tall example of the insensitive act of the public.
