The stir continued further although more police team arrived and told the agitators that the Department concerned had assured to repair the road by 4 pm tomorrow.
Later, the agitators suspended their stir after Imphal East SP Angam Kamei Romanus came there and informed them about the authority's assurance.
Speaking to reporters, a protester said that many accidents had occurred at the area due to dilapidated road condition.
She said that pedestrians are also facing lots of inconvenience due to accumulation of water in large potholes even after a drizzle.
As the Government has not revamped the road even after their repeated requests, they were compelled to launch the stir, she said.
