Six pledges made for 'New India'

Imphal, September 18 2017:
Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Babul Supriyo today inaugurated Exhition -cum- Seminar of 'Naya Bharat � Hum Karke Rahenge' and pledged for a new India at Manipur State Film Development Society Hall, Palace compound, Imphal .
The programme is aimed at spreading Prime Minister's message amongst the people of the country in order to help achieve the vision of New India .
To commemorate the 75 years of Quit India Movement and forthcoming 75th years of Independence in 2022, the exhibition- cum- seminar was conceptualised by Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, designed and organised by Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt of India under the sponsorship of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd, under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Govt of India .

The chief guest of the function Babul Supriyo administered Sankalp Se Siddhi (New India pledge) to all the participants.
The pledge and programme was in tune with the mass campaign started by the Prime Minister to take the six resolves to make the country- free of corruption, free of poverty, free of filth, free of communalism, free of terrorism and free of casteism.
The pledge was followed by National Anthem .
Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East District Th Chitra Devi and Chairman, Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur L Mahendra Singh also delivered talks on the programme .
The function was also attended by Dy Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs, Suman Bara, Director, DIPR Meghachandra Kongbam, Field Exhibition Officer, DAVP Imphal, Premlata Loitam, Kashyap Joshipura, Chief Manager of ONGC and many students and teachers from various institutions amongst others .
The focus of the exhibition was on India's freedom movement from 1857 to 1947 showing the various activities initiated to attain the freedom from the British rule.
The first war of Independence, 1857, the Champaran Satyagrah, the Non-cooperation movement, the Dandi yatra and the Quit India Movement .
Exhition -cum- Seminar of 'Naya Bharat will give a unique opportunity of 'Sankalp se Sidhi' towards a 'New India' .
The exhibition will continue till tomorrow.
