The Muan Tombing led ATSUM today alleged that the Govt has done nothing so far despite its assurance to concede to the earlier demands in respect of health sector while also saying that discrimination and exploitation against the ST in every dept would aggravate the social divide on ethnic line.
Speaking to reporters today at the ATSUM office located at Nagaram, Information and Publicity Secretary of Tombing led ATSUM, Micah Kamei said that no concrete measures have been taken up for effective implementation of projects and schemes under the Medical and Health Services, JNIMS and National Rural Health Mission.
Micah Kamei also said that it was pathetic to note the manipulative exploitation by way of exclusive recruitment sidelining important disciplines contrary to the objective of NRHM.
Some doctors who were recruited in 2012 in spite of protest from certain quarters were promoted to MHS based on DPC recommendation on July 5, 2012 and these doctors who are supposed to be posted in far flung areas have been posted in the Medical Directorate and hospitals in the State capital area, Micah pointed out.
The students' body also demanded the modification of an order issued by the Govt on Dec 28, 2006 for appointment to the post of MHS Grade-II in line with a High Court order.
Further saying that many medical officers of the State have been superseded by subordinate officers, the ATSUM leader said many tribal doctors' dream of becoming the Director of the dept is shattered by an ill-conceived scheme.
Micah therefore demanded rectification of the orders of promotion rules of MHS and NRHM in the larger interest of the public.
