Imphal, June 17 2012:
The Joint Action Committee formed by the chiefs within Moreh today has strongly opposed the proposal made by JN Baite, ADC member for the shifting of 14-Sibong ADC constituency without the knowledge and consent of the concerned chiefs.
A statement issued by the chief of Yangoupokpi, Letngam Lupho and chief of T Maipi, T Yangkholet Haokip said JN Baite, an ADC member from Moreh A, and who has never been to interior villages, lacks know ledge about the progress and development of the area.
Stating that he is not competent to take critical and important decisions for 14-Sibong ADC constituency, the JAC statement said the proposal made by him would not be accepted by the public of the area.
It further urged that the decision taken by some ADC members of Chandel on June 15 be treated void by the concerned authorities, the JAC warned of taking up severe agitation if the proposal to shift the station is withdrawn.
The JAC further cautioned that any untoward arising out of it should be the respon-sibility of the ADC member.
