Imphal, May 17 2013 :
KCP-MC Lallumba group which has entered into a process of dialogue with the Government of India and Government of Manipur has demanded a separate place of accommodation outside 7th MR complex where its cadres are presented housed.
Speaking to media persons at 7th MR complex, Khabeisoi this afternoon, KCP-MC Lallumba group general secretary Rousow said that the 7th MR Assistant Commandant views their cadres as if they were all criminals.
Such attitude of the Assistant Commandant has only fanned anger and discontentment among the cadres.
Family members and relatives who come to meet the cadres after years of separation were never treated nicely although the group has already signed a tripartite pact with the State Government and the Government of India.
"Today, a friend of mine named Sushil came to meet me at about 11 but he was thrashed most brutally by around 50 MR personnel", Rousow said.
Earlier on another occasion, the Assistant Commandant asked Sushil, "What is the information you want to obtain from these thugs and extortionists.
Instead of seeking information from them, seek your information from rickshaw pullers", Rousow conveyed.
Many MR personnel posted at Khabeisoi happen to be family members and relatives of the cadres but if any one of them was seen simply greeting the cadres, they were immediately transferred somewhere else.
Many a great time, the cadres have to go outside the MR gate to meet their visitors for the visitors were not allowed entry.
If the Assistant Commandant's attitude of looking upon the cadres who have returned to the mainstream as criminals is not changed, discontentment among the cadres would multiply and it may lead to unwanted incidents.
To avoid any untoward incident, it would be in the best interest of all if a separate designated camp (constructed by the group itself) is opened for the group.
There are 106 cadres of the group at 7th MR complex.
Saying that the group has been closely monitoring activities of all the cadres, Rousow informed some cadres who were found indulging in extortion were expelled from the group.
On the other hand, Government authorities do not specify any do's and don'ts for the cadres during their stay in 7th MR complex.
The cadres are just ordered around from time to time by MR officials which is only fuelling anger among the cadres, Rousow added.
