Imphal, March 16 2016:
The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Churachandpur district has appealed to the JAC against 'Anti-Tribal Bills' to review its decision taken in connection with the 200th day of protest by imposing total shutdown on CCpur town and gun salute to the 'martyrs' .
In a statement, general secretary of KSO, CCpur, NJ Haoneo Baite said that the time is not appropriate for such activities as students in large number are at the edge of completing their Class X and XII exams.
The general public of Churachandpur stand shoulder to shoulder to mitigate the protracted problems as long as it does not affect the economic and educational interest of the stake holders, it said.
The KSO is committed to serving the people's need and more particularly the learning communities who are to bear the brunt of such unfriendly atmosphere.
Urging the JAC to review its decision, the KSO appealed to the JAC to rather go for a more democratic form of protest so that all and sundry participate.
