Founder Principal of Imphal Public School aids transporters

The founder Principal of Imphal Public School, Asem Kennedy has extended monetary aid to the transporters who ferry both the students and teachers of the school during a simple programme held at the school's campus at Canchipur.
Speaking on the sideline of the event, Kennedy said that COVID-19 pandemic has caused havoc to students and their guardians but the worst is being faced by the school transporters since their service has been grounded for months and no fare or transportation charges can be collected.
The monetary aid, though small, has been extended to the teachers and the transporters with the clearance of pending fees for three months (January to March) by the guardians, he continued.
Face masks and hand sanitizers were a}so extended to the transporters and teachers during the programme.
In a similar effort, social worker Khagokpam Khamba today extended monetary assistance to school van drivers under Khurai Assembly Constituency today.
Around 170 school van drivers residing within the Assembly segment were extended monetary assistance and edible items during a function held at Kongpal Laishram Leikai in the presence of Maibam Kennedy, president of All Manipur School Students Transporter's Association; secretary, T Jimmy; advisors of Vision Khurai 2022 among others.
Kh Khamba while speaking at the occasion, said that moulding or grooming of students depends greatly on the contribution and support from the parents and teachers.
The role of transporters should not be left out or ignored and should be given equal importance and due acknowledgement, he said.
