TNL president meets Rijiju

The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) president Weapon Zimik met Union Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju and Ameising Luikham, Secretary to Government of India on Nov 12 at the National Capital.
According to a statement, the purpose of the TNL president's visit was to seek the assistance and cooperation of the Minister in inviting the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi for next year Lui-Ngai-Ni festival which will be held at Ukhrul town under the aegis of United Naga Council (UNC).
The TNL will host next year's Naga biggest festival, Luingai Ni on Feb 15.The event will also be participated by Tangkhul Nagas living in Myanmar's Somra Track.
The statement said that it is the most opportune time to invite the Prime Minister for the festival.
On this line the TNL president submitted a letter to the Minister requesting to attend the most important festival of 16 Naga tribes in Manipur.
The Minister assured the visiting team led by TNL president to extend help in whatever possible ways under his capacity as a Minister.The TNL president during his meeting with Luikham also shared the problems faced by the people of hill districts and sought his cooperation in bringing peace and development among the tribal communities in the State.
