Seminar on National sport university held

A one day seminar on "National Sports University at undisputed and non-cultivable area" was held today at Manipur Press Club organized by the National Sports University Construction Demand Committee (NSUCDC), Manipur.
Speakers shared different ideas and concepts for a better National Sports University which is the dream project of Manipur.
The seminar was inaugurated by secretary, NSUCDC M Sunil and chaired by Retd Prof N Muhindro, Dean of Social Science, Manipur University and social worker Dr Deven Sharma Bachaspatimayum was the rapporteur.
President of All Manipur Amateur Athletic Association L Ajit spoke on 'Modern Sports and Sports University'.
Need to include Sports Management and Sports Communication, Sports Outdoor Education and Movement in the syllabus was stressed by the veteran sports person, L Ajit.
An interaction session was also held during the programme.
On the other hand Advocate Md Jallaluddin spoke on 'the right to fair compensation and transparency in land acquisition, rehabilitation and resettlement'.
Citing numerous Acts and laws which need to be accordingly addressed on the land accusation, he suggested that the State Govt should take up a policy to acquire agricultural land/ paddy fields belonging to poor farmers.
Payment of compensation will not serve the needs of farmers unless sufficient agricultural land is provided, he added.
While president of LOUSAL Mutum Churamani addressed on 'Central and State Govt development project/ programme in agricultural and wet land'.
He highlighted the hazardous effects of development projects in agricultural and wet lands.
Retd Director of Statistic Dept Govt of Manipur O Biren spoke on 'Land Acquisition and Social Impact Study' .
