Imphal, December 12 2015 :
Canchi Indane Service has been allegedly indulging in all kinds of irregularities since a long time back as far as distribution of LPG refills is concerned.
According to a written complaint which contains official information filed by one consumer of Canchi Indane Service from Keishamthong Laisom Leirak Machin, the distributor has been issuing maximum refills to some consumers residing at Nagamapal Kangjabi, Kwakeithel Lam-dong, Kwakeithel Akham Leikai, Thongju, Malom Tulihal and Malom Tuliyaima.
Majority of these privileged consumers have com- mon surnames and addresses which may imply that nepotism and favouritism is ram- pant with the particular LPG distributor or the distributor has been indulging in all kinds of irregularities in the name of these consumers with or without their knowledge.
In his written complaint, the consumer said that he was issued one refill on September 16, 2014 as per official records and the corresponding subsidy account entered his bank account but he did not receive any refill in reality.
Necessary documents like Aadhar card were submitted in January 2015 and online profile was also opened.
On logging into the online account it was found that one refill was also issued on February 18, 2015 .
On lodging a complaint, the distributor said that it was on account of a mistake and they promised one refill in the next distribution.
"As promised, I was given one refill without involving any paper works.
Although Aadhar cards have been submitted thrice, the same has not been linked with my LPG connection", said the consumer.
Though two mobile phone numbers were also submitted, not a single message related to LPG distribution has been received.
This is an indication of unrestrained manipulation by distributors even after all necessary documents have been submitted, the consumer alleged.
Generally, consumers have been waiting for months after they have booked for their next refills.
However, data available online claimed that consumers have been issued refills on the day the bookings are done or a couple of days later.
Although more than 6700 consumers out of total 7256 consumers have not received half the quota allotted in a year, the distributor has been rated excellent in terms of LPG refill distribution.
This is an amazing accomplishment of the distributor and concerned staff, said the consumer who expressed deep appreciation of this daily paper's ongoing drive "Wanted Cooking Gas, Not Laughing Gas" .
"While complaints lodged to the distributor yielded no positive result, I don't have much faith in the IOC either", confided the consumer who further alleged that LPG distributors have been distributing refills on their whims for a prolonged period.
