Power cut disrupts oxygen supply at Jiribam District hospital

Jiribam, December 07 2021:
Powercut since yesterday has disrupted oxygen supply in Jiribam District Hospital.
During a visit to the hospital this Correspondent, rooms inside the hospitals had cracks in the ceiling and the walls from where water leakage were happenings.
The correspondent was also apprise of the pity conditions of the building including the cracks in the pillar collumns which have developed over time by some families of patients receiving treatment at the hospital.
Lack of equipments and poor condition of hospital building is causing serious problems for the patients and staffs of Jiribam District Hospital alike.
However, staffs of the hospital were found doing their duties deligently at OPD and casualty wards.
Samsad Begum, one of the patients party from Jiribam Babupara told this Correspondent that despite the lack of necessary equipments, the Doctors and Nurses were properly looking after the patients.
Regarding the issues faced by the hospital, Dr E Okendro Singh, CMO said the leakage are at the corridors joining the 4 wards/sections of the hospital.
It can be solved by putting tin roof over the areas.
On the disruption in oxygen supply due to power-cut, he said he will contact the electricity department to restore power supply.
He also assured that the hospital was doing everything they can to make sure that enough oxygen cylinders were in stock at the hospital.
