Imphal, January 07 2014:
The United Revolutionary Front (URF) Manipur which has signed a cease fire agreement with the Government celebrated its second raising day at their Loitang Khunou designated camp.
URF home secretary Ruhini Meitei, chief central finance Chingkheinganba and KYKL-MDF president Athouba graced the function as presidium members.
The gathering observed two minutes' silence apart from paying homage to departed cadres of the outfit.
Even as URF chairman Lanheiba Meitei was not present at the function, his message was read out by assistant publicity secretary Poinu Luwang.
His message claimed that the URF has been still taking forward the revolutionary movement.
Only perseverance and hard work can make Manipur self-reliant on food.
Once Manipur is self-reliant in terms of food, freedom is within the reach of people, he said.
Home secretary Ruhini Meitei claimed that URF cadres and activities have been involved in the revolutionary movement since 10 years back although the outfit was set up just two years ago.

"We came to the path of a dialogue process to convey in clear terms the party's and people's common aspiration for freedom.
It was not surrender", claimed the home secretary.
However, different cases registered against the party's officers and cadres are being re-opened as if the Government is not interested in any dialogue process, Ruhini decried.
Saying that the outfit has embarked on a journey of green revolution, Ruhini said that they are not asking for designated camp like other groups who have come to some sort of understanding with the Government.
"Our foremost agenda is establishment of an ideal village but the Government is paying little agenda to the party's agenda", he decried.
URF welcomed the recent intimation that former militants currently housed in their camps should move away.
URF did not shun the path of violence to stay or work together with Assam Rifles/Army, he added.
The function culminated with colourful cultural dance and music programmes.
