Manipur State Congress Party, in a statement issued by its vice president Adim Pamei clarified that W Keishing has not been issued party ticket to contest the upcoming assembly election from 43-Phungyar Constituency.
Wungnaoshang Keishing has only applied to the president Y Mani for enrolment in the Party and it does not tantamount to getting the ticket to contest for the election, the statement maintained while reminding that issuance of ticket for the hill constituencies will be the concern/prerogative of MSCP vice president Adim Pamei.
President M Mani will be the authority for issuing valley tickets, the statement said and clarified that the Party do not endorse opinions of individuals criticising the UPA Government.
The Party appreciates various development work done by the UPA both in the hills and valley, it added.
