Former Minister, CMO assess flood affected areas

While former Minister BD Behring visited flood affected areas of Chakpikarong sub-division, Imphal West CMO H Kulla made a field assessment of some flood affected areas like Langol Tarung, Lamphel Yaipha Leikai, Iroishemba, Lamboi Khongnangkhong and RIMS quarters on August 4 .
In addition to interacting with the affected people, the team led by the CMO also distributed health care materials.
They also informed the flood affected people about all possible precautionary measures against infection or outbreak of diseases.
Apart from snapping Chakpikarong RCC bridge, many other bridges built over Dujang, Dehan and Datan rivers have been swept away by floods.

Anal Khullen bailey bridge as well as the bailey bridge constructed near United College, Chandel have also been swept away.
Altogether 11 bridges were damaged by the flood in Chandel district.
As a result, many villages have been cut off from the rest of the State.
He expressed keen desire for the concerned department to take up all necessary remedial measures without any further delay.
He also decried the alleged failure of the Disaster Management Department to extend a helping hand to the marooned as well as other affected people.
He also urged all concerned authorities to do all the needful so that normalcy is returned to all the affected people.
Anal Students' Union president Gofort Langhu appealed to the Government to organise special medical camps as well as vaccination camps for domestic animals at flood affected areas.
