Teachers' Day celebrated across State

Teacher's Day was widely celebrated in the State on Monday to appreciate the role played by teachers in the life of students.
Kakching
To celebrate Teacher's Day, Kakching High School 1984 Matric Batch today visited the teachers of Kakching High School and presented gifts.
Speaking to media persons, N Munal Meitei, president of Kakching High School 1984 Matric Batch, stressed on the importance of celebrating Teachers' Day and honouring the contributions made by teachers to society.
He also mentioned that September 5 is celebrated as Teacher's Day in India every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President and Bharat Ratna recipient Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

Similarly, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Kha Manipur College, Kakching also celebrated Teachers' Day today at the college's multipurpose hall.
It was attended by Kha Manipur College Kakching Principal, Dr Y Sunitibala; Commerce Department HOD, Associate Professor Y Raju and Education Department Associate Professor, Dr N Subhaschandra as presidium members.
Teachers and students of the college paid floral tributes to a photo of Dr S Radhakrishnan.
Teachers of the College were also felicitated at the event.
Ukhrul
Teacher's Day was also celebrated today at Paoyi Government High School in Peh village.
During the celebration, the students appreciated Worling Kapai and Ningachan Shimray for making sure the school continues its normal routine without interrupting the annual academic session throughout the years in spite of acute teachers shortage.
It may be mentioned that the school has been without a regular headmaster for many years besides acute shortage of teachers.
Both Worling Kapai and Ningachan Shimray were native of Peh village, while W Kapai was given charge to look into the affairs of school administration.
Headmaster in-charge, Worling Kapai also administered the "Rashtriya Poshan Maah-2022" pledge to the students at the event.
Peh Village Authority members, village headman Mawonshang, chairman and others attended the function to show their concern and encourage the students & teachers.
Paoyi Government High school was the recipient of the 2022 Star Education Award.
The school was established in 1962 and later upgraded to high school in 2011 .
Assam Rifles
Modi Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) celebrated Teachers' Day with the teaching staff of schools located in Yangoubung, Thingphai, Dzalengbung and Moltuk villages on September 5 .
During the event held at Moltuk village in Chandel district, the teachers were felicitated in recognition of their effort to spread education in a challenging remote location.
The battalion also organised Teachers' Day celebration at Assam Rifles Public School, Pallel, Kakching District today.
It was participated by 17 teachers, 162 students and parents.
Teachers were also felicitated at the programme.
