World AIDS Day celebrated across the State

World Aids Day with the theme "Global solidarity and shared responsibility" was celebrated today at various places in Thoubal district.
District AIDS Prevention Control Unit Thoubal, DAPCU organised the event in the unit's campus and the CMO Thoubal office campus, today.
It was attended by District AIDS Control Officer Dr N Thoinao Singh as chief guest.
The event was also attended by DIS/DPM Th Openkumar Singh; staff of DAPCU, DLN, VIHAN, AHANA and TI/NGOs.
Regional Institute of Handicapped Persons, RIHP Yairipok and Nasha Mukta Campaign Committee Thoubal also jointly organised a World AIDS Day programme with the theme "Ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic resilience and impact" at their campus in Yairipok Bamon Leikai.
It was attended by RIHP Yairipok president Dr Maibam Rajendro Singh, Principal of the institute Kh Mema Devi and local guardian Md Anowar Khan as presidium members.
RIHP secretary Sh Kunjabihari Sharma also attended the event as a spokesperson.
Further, World AIDS Day was also celebrated by TI Project, DIC Wangjing and Sub DIC Khongjom under Rural Voluntary Services Wangban with support from NACO and MSACS in DIC Wangjing campus, today.
A painting competition was also organised as a part of the event.
It was attended by RVS Wangban secretary Babita Sapam and DIC Wangjing and Sub DIC Khongjom project manager Laikhuram Biroja as presidium members.
Kumbi College NSS Unit I, II and III also jointly organised the World AIDS Day programme in Kumbi College, Bishnupur district, today.
It was attended by governing body chairman M Mangi Singh, secretary Kh Jugeshwore Singh, member A Nimai Singh and college Principal K Jugeshore Singh as presidium members.
The Dedicated People's Union, Moreh under the Manipur State AIDS Control Society also celebrated World AIDS Day in Moreh, today.
Dedicated People's Union, Moreh project manager Lucky Angomcha also attended the event.
As a part of the celebration, the staff of the Dedicated People's Union also carried out a Red Ribbon Campaign in Moreh police station, commando complex, 43 Assam Rifles Indo-Myanmar Friendship Gate No 1 Post, Additional Deputy Commissioner Moreh Office and T Motha village.
