ADC Chairman inspects

Putting in efforts to monitor and supervise the implementation of SSA/RTE Project in Senapati District, Autonomous District Council Chairman Henry Hriili accompanied by ADC members Sapuni and Liba inspected the distribution of Midday meal rice to school representatives at Maram Bazaar Primary School on Friday.
According to the ADC Chairman, the inspection was intended to physically monitor that flagship programmes being executed for general interest of the student's community.
While sending out a strong message to those concerned department undertaking programmes to sincerely deliver the people's rightful shares, the ADC chairman has sought the cooperation of the public to effectively achieve the targeted vision.
He also stated that other ADC members are also deputed to different areas of the District to monitor the actual implementation of the said project and that such frequent inspection will be conducted to prevent any irregularities in the Government programmes and policies.
The Chairman when inquired about devolution of power and necessary funds for the District poised a negative note stating that, the State Government has till now denied such powers to the ADC and no sufficient funds under the ADC released for any developmental projects in Senapati District.
However, he has also appealed to the present State Government to expedite all process to devolve power to ADC as envisaged by the Constitution.
The ADC members also noted that the All Manipur ADC core committee which is spearheading the movement in New Delhi for immediate devolution of power to all hill district ADCs will come out with a decision after the ongoing Manipur Assembly to decide the future course of demanding the devolution of power.
