Speaking to media persons at their Babupara office this afternoon, MNDF women front president Yumnam Romola who is preparing to fight the Assembly election in Kei- shamthong AC said that the women front has been expanded to alleviate the status of women and make them economically independent.
She said that she would make all efforts to provide employment to all unemployed youth, ensure that women enjoy all rights entitled to them and develop road infrastructure of Kei-shamthong AC provided she is elected in the forthcoming election.
Two women have been inducted as MNDF's Keishamthong AC election campaign in-charge.
Romola said that election campaign in-charge of Kumbi AC, Wangoi AC and other Assembly constituencies would also be appointed soon.
MNDF senior vice-president Bijoy Koijam announ- ced that former BJP member Ningthoujam Itomba who is preparing to fight the forthcoming election in Keirao has joined MNDF.
Rather than working to get the indefinite economic blockade lifted which has been breeding untold misery for all the people, Congress and BJP have been playing blame game, he rued.
It's time for the Congress Government to ponder whether letting lakhs of people suffer untold misery for a prolonged period is better than inflicting injuries to a handful of people, Bijoy Koijam said.
MNDF would make Manipur an economic blockade free State in case it is elected to power, he added.
