ILPS stir on

In continuation of the ongoing stir to demand the implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the State, residents of Sagolband Sayang Konthoujam Leikai under the lead of JCILPS staged a sit-in-protest today.
The protest was attended by JCILPS representatives Ibotombi Khuman, convenor, Somorendro Khondram and RK Sanahanbi.
Meanwhile, a public meeting was held at Awang Jiri Mayai Leikai Meira Shang organised jointly by Awang Jiri Khul Committee, Awang Jiri Meira Paibi (Nishaband), Awang Jiri Sports Association (ASA), Awang Jiri Youth Guidance Club (AJYGC), United Progressive Club, Awang Jiri (UPCAJ) and Yaipha Naharol Club (YNC) to discuss the issue of ILPS in the State.
The public meeting was attended by JCILPS representatives W Anand, co-convenor, Somorendro Thokchom, co-convenor and Soubam Rajen, executive member.
The public meeting concluded with the decision to demand immediate implementation of ILP and to bar outsiders from entering the State without ILP.
The Government would be held responsible for any untoward incident that may arise in case outsiders are found trespassing the State boundary without ILP, it added.
In another occasion, JCILPS members and CPO leaders observed the 63rd death anniversary of Hijam Irabot on September 26 at JCILPS office at Nongmeibung Chuthek.
