International Day Against drug Abuse

Imphal, June 26 2020:
The IGP Manipur and Nagaland sector, Langjing, Imphal organised the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking today.
A P Maheshwari, DGP CRPF The DG CRPF in his message stated that substance abuse and drug trafficking is an evil in our society and disorientation among a majority of the youth.
The global observance aims to raise awareness regarding the major problem that illicit drugs represent to society.
Dr E Indira Devi, Retd (Guru) J N Manipur Dance Academy (Padmashree Awardee) was also honoured at this occasion.
Dr Gajendra Singh, Professor of Psychiatric Dept (RIMS), Dr Suresh Prof in MU/ Human Rights, Mrs Jibanbala, Kripa Foundation (NGO), Dr Wathem Basu, SP (Narcotics), Th Jotin Kumar, GM, Care Foundation, Manipur (NGO), Sh Vikash Kumar, AD, NCB and Mr Suranjan Singh Lairenjam, Chairman, Shishu Nistha Niketan shared their views and informed about the importance of this day.
Speakers on the occasion said that drug addiction is very severe problem around the whole world.
They further emphasised to communicate a message to the masses, ''Say No to Drugs" and reach every corner of the Country with publicity campaigns, rallies , posters and other programmes to celebrate the day together.
The theme for the 2020 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is "Better Knowledge for Better Care" .
Randeep Datta, PMG, IGP in his closing address emphasized the importance of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
