Mass Covid awareness drive conducted

Committee on COVID-19 Manipur carried on its mass awareness programme to sensitize the street vendors on the various precautionary measures against COVID-19 to curb its further spread.
The mass awareness programmes were conducted at Konung Mamang, Andro Parking and Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi on August 23 using loud speakers and urged the street vendors to maintain social distancing, to wear face masks etc for the safety of the vendors and the buyers, said a press release by the Committee on COVID-19 Manipur which is formed by CADA, UPF, NIPCO, AMSU, UPACO and MAPI Council to tackle the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic in an effective manner.
During the awareness programmes, the committee also distributed face masks.
The committee also distributed AYUSH-64 medicines provided by Directorate of AYUSH to Covid Care Centres, Community Home Isolation Centres, local Covid Task Forces, local clubs/meira paibis in Bishnupur district.
The Committee on COVID-19 Manipur expressed concern over the reckless attitude of many defying the Covid SOPs and protocol taking advantage of the relaxations of curfew and other restrictions which may become a major cause of the further spread of the dreaded virus putting the lives of many in danger.
Considering that there is no proper cure of the virus as of now, the committee appealed all to strictly adhere to Covid SOPs laid by the competent authorities concerned to stay protected from COVID-19 and contain its further spread in order to overcome the pandemic.
